Mrs. Verdin's  2nd Grade Class Spent the Morning of October 3, 2007 with Fire Chief Donald Tumey and Engineer Darrell Kalb learning about Fire Safery and Looking at Unit 701's Equipment and Learning all about the special tools used by Firefighters. Every Kid received a Fire Department Tee Shirt ( Donated by DKC Radio ) and a Fire Hat.

The fire/weather siren can now be remotely or manually activated. The Lewisburg Vol. Fire Dept. would like to remind its neighbors that the 2 tone siren (Rise & Fall Sound) is for fire calls and the continious siren (Steady Tone) is for tornado warnings.

Lewisburg VFD's 1 Annual Pig Roast was a HUGE Success. Thanks to everyone from the Community that came out and supported this fun event. The Pig Roasted by John Jackson was served with French Fries, Baked Beans, Coleslaw and Plenty of Deserts. The Ladies Aux. hosted games and prizes for the kids. The Ladies Aux. were called into action to put out the Pig Cooker when a flare-up almost burned up the Pork BBQ while Members of the Lewisburg Fire Deparment were called away on a Hay Field Fire. Despite not having a Fire Truck the Girls saved the day. 


  August 17th & 18th 2007, LVFD Members were busy Volunteering at this event to help support CASA in Mason, Fleming and Bracken Counties. The Photos Above were taken on Friday Evening Aug. 17, 2007. Our Own Shayla Silvey Rode in one of the Hot Air Balloons during the Hound and Hare Race.


A Barn Fire on the Evening of April 3 2007 was Quickly Extinguished by Members of the Lewisburg Fire Dept. This fire was the first use of the New Engine 701's CAFS System and was Featured on the Front Page of the Ledger Independent the next day.

A Train Jumped the tracks near Marshall Station in Lewisburg on March 19, 2004. The TTI train was pulling 75 Loaded Coal Cars when it jumped the tracks. This accident was shown on FOX NEWS, CNN & Local area TV News Stations. No one was injured and the mess was cleaned up in a matter of days. For a short time on a March Day in 2004 Lewisburg was on the National Map.
